Visitor Policies

At McCarthy Public Library, we treat each and every one of our visitors with respect. We expect our visitors to do the same for one another. By visiting this library, you agree to observe the following:

-Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes harassment or negative comments based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, nationality, immigration status, disability, or age.

-Violent, threatening, or disturbing conduct is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the Acton Police Department.

-Please return items on time and do not remove them from the premises without checking them out.

-Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, cannabis products, and illegal substances are not to be used on our premises. We reserve the right to temporarily ask you to leave if we believe you are under the influence of alcohol or any drug.

-Visitors under the age of 18 using our electronic resources must be supervised by a parent, guardian, or teacher at all times. Electronic devices may not be used to access pornographic, hateful, illegal, or pro-crime content or to engage in cyberbullying, the creation or spreading of viruses or malware, or illegal conduct.

Repeated and/or severe violations of these policies may result in revocation of library privileges.
